Outsourcing product related sourcing
Due to the pressures of globalisation, regulation, and cost control many organisations have outsourced or are thinking about outsourcing procurement activities of Non Product Related (NPR) categories. However, only few organisations have outsource the procurement activities of Product Related (PR) categories. Over the last two years our experience has shown that many organisations are exploring ways to outsource PR-items. We have discovered that this outsourcing of procurement activities is faced with significant more challenges than outsourcing NPR activities. General frameworks which create guidelines for this process are hard to find. Our challenge: conduct a first explorative research on the opportunities and best practices of outsourcing PR procurement activities. This book creates insight in the chances and pitfalls of outsourcing and provides you a first framework which can be used as a guideline for outsourcing PR purchasing. We aim to create the first step in this new research area within the field of purchasing which can be used in daily practice.
